This knowledge area has a process for each of the project domains (process groups). In a sense, the Integration processes are supervisory because they oversee all the activities the project manager is performing. So developing the charter is like the capstone of Initiation, as is development of the project management plans and all of the subsidiary plans for each of the knowledge areas. Direct and manage project work, the third of the Integration processes, is a holding tank for all of our Executing processes. Similarly, Monitoring and Control contains all of our efforts to keep the project on track and following the baseline plans we developed earlier. Finally, close project brings the project to an end and has us archive the information for future projects.
